This was done quite a few years ago by photographer Steve Ryan. He photographed oranges on variety of surfaces and then made prints and called it FAF Dublin - Vitamin C. Love the camouflage approach :)

Free Art Friday: Los Dave in Portsmouth England

Free Art Landscape Acrylic, board, 12cmx20cm.

Los Dave has been putting our free art for quite a few years now and refers to mydogsighs explanation on the reasons why on his blog. He describes himself as a "Free Artist, self publishing creative. Occasional writer (in the way that a table can be an occasional table) and photographer, as well as an experienced teacher of art and photography." In 2008 Los Dave started a project writing on pebbles and leaving them on a beach in Southsea England. In 2009 the stones were featured on the GPS website of the South Bank Centre, London and a book published in 2010 called Stone Dead Forever.

FAFDET: Skidmore Studio

Free Art Friday drop in Detroit from a designer at Skidmore Studio.

It is a screen printed block of wood left on a bronze sculpture outside of the Boll Family YMCA on Broadway and John R in Detroit.

We loved the idea so much we decided to start it up in Detroit!

We've been doing it every Friday and have gotten a great response, with an amazing quality of artwork.

Korporate Kulczak aka Korp in the UK

Having done some modest attempts at stencil art myself, I have admiration for anyone who has the patience and vision to do more complex pieces.

Korp is one of those artists and describes himself as a multi layer stencil artist from a little city, Peterborough. He is also one of the three artists (mydogsighs and Fin Dac) filmed by the bbc2 about free art friday. Korp talks about being filmed on his blog entry here.

Fin is in London with mydogsighs being filmed by the BBC team for a culture show about their work and Free Art Friday(airs Feb 10th, 7pm bbc 2)

"In a relatively short urban art career, Fin DAC has defined and perfected an atypical paint/stencil style that ignores the accepted visual language of street art almost completely - he calls it Urban Aesthetics ( a modern-day take on the 19th century art movement).

Hailing from Cork (Eire), he has lived the majority of his life in and around London. Self-taught and non-conformist, his influences range from dark graphic novels through to the works of Francis Bacon and Aubrey Beardsley.

He has painted/exhibited alongside respected artists such as Goldie, Nick Walker, Jamie Reid. Jef Aerosol and C215. But in general, he shys away from the scene, keeps his own counsel and shuns the typical life of a street artist.
His commercial work includes commissions for The Royal Albert Hall, Armani, G-Star, Red Bull and Jaegermeister

my dog sighs has been doing free art fridays for about 10 years, and was the one that started the free art friday flickr group(first photo 2006 with a total 4,188 photo submissions to date)

It doesn't stop there though, he has been a huge promoter of involving others in Free Art Fridays and a variety of other projects from around the world. His efforts, his work and his projects have been and are inspiring to so many, including myself.
